Bringing Kabi Kabi Led Stories to Caloundra’s Tourist Experience

The SCC funded Anembo and Kabi Kabi APO to collaborate on a Songlines Cultural Tourism Product Development Project.

The project involved developing a Major Scoping Report through a deep review of Kabi Kabi cultural values around the Caloundra Headlands from Happy Valley to Moffat Beach with a view to developing a Caloundra Headlands Songlines Tour.

The details of this project are confidential as the KKAPO holds the intellectual property to the cultural knowledge that was curated by Anembo into a report format as part of the project.

A Songlines Tourism Product is now ‘shovel ready’ for a future KKAPO business.

Rehabilitation RAMSAR wetlands for POB on Fisherman’s Island

The development of the Port of Brisbane’s Authority’s Fisherman’s Island facility required reclamation of thousands of hectares of Moreton Bay Marine Park. The southern edge of development sits alongside an internally recognised and preserved RAMSAR wetland.

Anembo were the project Landscape Architects for the facility development which included designing habitats and landscapes to the RAMSAR interface.

Outcomes included planting regimes to allow continuation of long term designated bird flight and landing paths, mangrove habitat restoration and provision of environmental education based tourist facilities.

Reflecting Aspirational Community Culture through Main Street Art Installations

Shamrock Street has the classic 1.5 kilometres of generous median through Blackall’s town’s centre.

The town is celebrating its deep history and culture with art installations to be enjoyed by locals and boosting the tourist experience and promoting more reasons to longer stay longer.

Anembo undertook community engagement thru 3d modelling to ensure all stakeholders fully understand the ideas and support the outcomes.

Anzac Park refurbished for locals and tourists

Anzac park is centrally located in Birdsville, featuring a ceremonial civic space, rest areas, and play equipment. The refurbishment began an extensive master plan for the township’s open spaces, allowing the community to determine lifestyle and tourism priorities.

The Park now boasts quality shelters, toilets, a water park, a multi-sport court, a skate park and a playground with BBQ and picnic facilities in an outback oasis.

Anembo managed the procurement, contract administration, project budget and construction. A key factor in the project’s success in such a remote area was the involvement of Eureka Landscapes as principal contractor. Owner Jason McGarry even brought his two sons out to help with planting and lay the turf on Christmas Eve!

He did get some help from the locals and Anembo though!
